Dateline Purgatory: Examining the Case that Sentenced Darlie Routier to Death

I finished this book on Friday afternoon. While I still wasn’t a fan of her writing style, it definitely gave me a lot more information I didn’t have before I read this book. With this case, if you just skim the surface then you will believe this woman killed her children and deserves to be on death row. But as you delve into all the information out there you will start see how the entire case makes no sense. It really is mind blowing how they were able to send a woman to death row the way they did here. It is scary.

As for the bath tub rating, this book received 2 bathtubs. It was an awkward shape that was hard to hold in bath.

I don’t have a next book lined up yet. I looked through my books at home over the weekend and was unable to find information on the authors so I couldn’t confirm what their backgrounds were. Yes, that was an excuse not read. I tried to read though. I started one. Didn’t make it very far. As for my excuse for why I didn’t post over the weekend? The usual, I forgot. Weekends are the more difficult time for me to try and write. Really to try and do anything. I know I am only hurting myself. Like I have said before, nothing will happen if I don’t write. If I don’t write, I won’t finish my book. Have to keep writing.

I pretty much failed my goals for last week. The only thing I could cross off was “Finish Reading Sharp Objects.” I didn’t even paint! That should have been the easiest part of that list. That is pretty lame on my part. Time for another go at it.

Goals for the week:

  • Choose a new book to read/finish reading book
  • Write at least 1,000 words
  • Write a vignette
  • Paint
  • Create a place to write in my house

Maybe this week will be different? With St. Paddy’s day on Thursday, the parade and block party on Saturday and having my friend come in town and stay with me Thursday-Monday, I have a feeling it won’t be too different. Just got to get a head start on things. On my lunch break I will go to Half Price Books and find a new book to start today! It must be done. I have a 20% off coupon to use too! I do love coupons. They sent me one for every day of the week and the discount gets bigger as the week goes on. I probably shouldn’t go every day this week though…
